First Baptist Christian School is a ministry of First Baptist Church. The school is governed by a School Committee consisting of nine church members who operate under the authority of the church body. The School Committee functions essentially as a school board under a policy governance model. This means that their responsibility is primarily to determine the mission and vision that the school is to achieve and the philosophy and policy that establish the parameters within which the school is to operate. The school administrator is charged with achieving the school’s mission within those parameters set by school policy. The administrator is accountable to the School Committee and the senior pastor of First Baptist Church.
Our Headmaster, Mr. Stacey Miller, joined First Baptist Christian School in June 2004. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Christian School Administration from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1992. Mr. Miller is married and has three children, all of whom attend First Baptist Christian School. |
